Ilham: Fashion Illustration: My attempt to recreate the fur jacket

Ilham: I am currently studying fashion design at UTS being something that i really love doing. From the age of nine I was cutting out fabric and turning them into clothing. Even though they were not wearable in public, it made made me feel like I was slowly getting somewhere and over the years, after enduring hours and hours on the sewing machine I'm embarking on a difficult but exciting journey. As a young girl I always saw the challenge my mum faced being a Muslim woman, to find clothing that fulfilled her religious obligation whislt at the same time, clothing that looked aesthetically pleasing and unique. I realised that just because a woman wore a scarf it did not mean she could not be beautiful and restricted in her style. My aim is to create new innovative designs for Muslim women to help them feel more confident about themselves in society whilst fullining their religious obligations.
